We provide a number of additional and new services to clients with HIV or AIDS.
Our individualized case management provides education and services that connect consumers to medical and social services based on their needs in order to promote the well-being of the individual. Generally, this involves monthly face-to-face contact, which is necessary to access most support services.
We offer 3 different housing assistance programs (based on eligiblity) that assist clients with the payment of security deposits, rent or mortgage, as well as emergency financial assistance for an emergency-based need for food, housing, utilities, and medications.
In order to ensure clients can attend medical or social service appointments, AIDS Resource will reimburse clients for mileage or will provide bus tickets or tokens to help with transportation.
We provide payment for medical and dental services and work with an optometrist to provide free vision and eye health exams and free glasses.
AIDS Resource is now offering our clients mental health counseling on-site. Our counseling is free (no insurance required, no co-pay), offered at our office in a safe and comfortable space, and provided by a licensed social worker who has special training and a deep understanding of the unique challenges our clients face.
Because we understand that nutrition plays a large role in health, we are committed to helping our clients access healthy foods. Clients who use our State College office can receive a free monthly gift card to Trader Joe’s and clients who use our Williamsport office can select food at the free monthly food bank at our office.
In addition to these more urgent services, we offer programs and services to help our clients make healthy choices in their day-to-day lives. These include yoga classes at our Williamsport offices and at a yoga studio in State College (classes are absolutely free for clients), Boost or Ensure nutritional supplements delivered directly to your door, and free toothbrushes and toothpaste.
